Krishna Bahadur Kumal

 

Mr. Krishna Bahadur Kumal is a freelance Hydropower Engineer and Advocate, based in Nepal, specializing in the intersection of energy infrastructure, contract law and sustainability standards. He holds a MSc. degree in Water Science and Engineering from IHE Delft Institute for Water Education, Netherlands, Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering from Institute of Engineering, Nepal and a Bachelor degree in Law (LL.B.) from Tribhuvan University, Nepal.

With over a decade of experience, his expertise spans from technical engineering, including hydrology, hydraulic engineering, and project optimization, to legal complexities of ESG practices and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR). He has overseen a diverse portfolio of Run-of-River and Peaking RoR (PRoR) projects exceeding a combined capacity of 300 MW, navigating unique challenges of high-altitude Himalayan terrains between 1,800 masl and 3,000 masl.

His dual academic and professional background enables him to bridge the gap between global sustainability benchmarks and local regulatory requirements, providing comprehensive oversight for complex hydropower developments.
