NATALIA ACERO MARTÍNEZ


 
 

Natalia Acero Martínez is the Water and Cities Director at Conservation International Colombia with 10 years of experience in integrated water resources management with a particular focus on ecosystem-based approaches. She holds a master’s degree in Monitoring, Modeling, and Environmental Management from King's College London, United Kingdom and a double bachelor’s degree in environmental and chemical engineering from Andes University, Colombia. Natalia has worked on several projects that aim to improve provision and regulation of freshwater ecosystems services by protecting, sustainably managing, and restoring natural and modified ecosystems. Natalia has worked in countries such as Madagascar, Cambodia, and Liberia, as well as several Latin American countries including Mexico and Brazil. She has focused her work on understanding the multiple benefits that freshwater ecosystems services contribute to sustainable development goals and people's well-being. Her current work involves designing green-gray infrastructure strategies and implementing nature-based solutions for climate change adaptation and water security in Latin American countries. Native Spanish speaker, and fluent in English.
