Benjamin Arhin Sackey
Benjamin Arhin Sackey is an Environmental Safeguard Specialist and has over 25 years’ experience of work, especially in the energy sector. Benjamin holds a BSc in Biochemistry/Food Science, an M-Phil in Food Science as well as a Post Graduate Certificate in Occupational Health, Safety & Environment. He is also a Certified Environmental Auditor and Carbon Champion. His expertise is in the preparation of Environmental Scoping, Environmental Impact Assessment, Studies, Environmental Auditing, Resettlement Planning as well as the production of Environmental Management Plans (EMPs) and Corporate Greenhouse Gas Inventory Reporting.
Benjamin is currently the Director, Environment & Sustainable Development Department of the Volta River Authority, an electric power utility company in Ghana, where he is directly responsible for coordinating the integrated water resources management actions within the Volta Basin in Ghana because of the operations of the 1020MW Akosombo and 160MW Kpong Hydroelectric Power Plants.
Benjamin is an Executive Member of the “West & Central Africa Hydropower Alliance” and a member of the “International Association of Impact Assessment”.
