Mohamed Amine Zahr
Mohamed Amine Zahr is a QHSSE expert with over 20 years of international experience across large-scale energy and infrastructure projects. Since 2013, he serves as Group HSSE Manager at the Moroccan Agency for Sustainable Energy (Masen), supporting the development and execution of Morocco’s major solar (including the Noor Ouarzazate Complex), wind, and green hydrogen initiatives, representing more than 2.7 GW of renewable energy capacity. He plays a key role in embedding international HSSE standards and ESG performance frameworks into Morocco’s renewable energy programs.
He has successfully led multiple certification projects (ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001), working closely with international lenders (World Bank, KfW, ADB, EBRD, EU, EIB, AfDB), EPC contractors from diverse backgrounds (China, Spain, France, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Bulgaria, Morocco), and national authorities.
Amine began his career in France as a QHSE Consultant with the Air Liquide Group, supporting SEVESO II and ICPE-classified sites. He then joined Tanger Med Port as QHSE Manager and Port Facility Security Officer, during construction and operation.
He holds an associate’s degree in life and earth sciences, a master’s degree in food technology, a master’s degree in quality management, and the NEBOSH Level 6 International Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health Management. He is an IRCA certified Lead Auditor, with additional certifications from IEMA, IOSH, OSHA, IFC, and ESSEC Business School.
Beyond his technical role, Amine is a dedicated trainer and speaker on HSSE culture, workplace well-being, and sustainable leadership. He contributes to IOSH publications, promotes stakeholder engagement and social dialogue, and is an advocate for safety and environmental stewardship in North Africa.
He is fluent in Arabic, French, and English, and speaks Spanish at an advanced level.
