Charles Scaife
Charles Scaife is a hydrologist and energy–water systems specialist with more than 10 years of experience working at the intersection of climate resilience, water resources, and sustainable infrastructure. He holds a PhD in Environmental Sciences from the University of Virginia and a master’s degree in Geography from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where his academic work focused on climate–vegetation–water interactions, hydrologic extremes, and nonlinear watershed response for water resource management applications.
Charles has worked across research, policy, and applied technical settings to support climate adaptation, watershed planning, water resources management, and infrastructure resilience. His experience includes hydrologic and climate risk analysis related to river basins, reservoir systems, and water-dependent infrastructure, including work on drought, streamflow change, water temperature, and ecosystem impacts. He has contributed to multidisciplinary efforts involving utilities, research institutions, governments, and international partners to support water allocation, energy–water resilience, and sustainable infrastructure planning.
He has participated in international collaborations on water, energy, and climate resilience to support integrated approaches to long-term sustainability, risk management, and infrastructure planning.
