Dorji Yangdon

Dorji Yangdon is an environmental and sustainability professional with nearly a decade of experience in Bhutan’s hydropower sector. She currently heads the Environment and Social Unit under Druk Green Power Corporation Limited (DGPC), Bhutan’s sole power generation utility. Her professional experience spans across environmental and social sustainability, impact assessment, stakeholder engagement, environmental compliance, and sustainability risk management for renewable energy projects.

Dorji has experience in coordinating and undertaking Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIAs), including scoping, baseline studies, impact assessment, mitigation planning, stakeholder consultations, and the preparation of Environmental and Social Management Plans (ESMPs). She has also prepared ESIA studies for hydropower projects, including the 25 MW Begana Integrated Multipurpose Small Hydropower Project and the 55 MW Gamri-II Hydropower Project, among others.

Dorji holds Bachelors Degree in Sustainable Development.
