Ana Diaz Climate Bonds Initiative
 

Dr. Díaz is an energy expert with over 20 years of international experience leading teams and projects to advance the low-carbon transition. She has designed national and regional energy strategies and developed industrial decarbonization plans. Her academic background includes a Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Dresden and a Ph.D. in Energy Engineering from the University of Pisa, along with research experience in Germany, Italy, and the United States.

She spent nine years in the renewable energy industry, serving as Executive Director of Technology for a leading NASDAQ- and IBEX 35-listed company, where she helped drive innovation in clean energy technologies. She later worked for six years at the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre, providing expert advice on energy, transport, and climate policies.

Over the past three years, she has focused on mobilising capital for sustainable solutions leading the technical development and delivery of energy transition standards and worked as an international consultant for the United Nations. She is also a faculty member for the Sustainability Program at IE Business School.
